Nice lesson. Finding this one easier to get through than the last two. Lots of fun, reminding me of some patterns used by Pink Floyd here and there. Blues based … but melodic. Another great lesson.

I have been playing the Target 3rd Blues piece as presented in the lesson for a while now and I have today got around to recording a version of it:

Target 3rd Blues

Now its on to trying to add in some variations and improvising around the main tune.

I like the various bends in this one.

Looking ahead, it appears my thumb will be back in action in the next lesson!

Sounds great, David!
It’s clean and smooth and I love your tone.

I’m working on this one, but on acoustic. I love the bends in it too, it’s a lot of fun.

Well, David. What can I say?

That was really, really good! You nailed it! You’ve always been good at fingerstyle technique, so I don’t need to give you advice on that. You learned the song perfectly. All the parts were correct and played well. What I particularly liked was your time keeping. It was solid. Lots of guitarists struggle staying in time when playing solo. Even professionals.

As you said, the next step is to add some variations and improvisation. I’d love to see another video of this when you’ve had time to work on that.
