Thanks for Making Me a Guitar Player!

Justin & JustinGuitar team,

I started following Justin’s current Beginner’s Course (Grades 1-3) back in March 2020. I had tried & failed to learn guitar two previous times in my life; the most recent being 1997. A friend and 30-year guitar player gave me an inexpensive guitar he had laying around at Thanksgiving 2019 with the condition that if/when I no longer used it, I would donate it. Well, now I suddenly had a lot of time to fill (we all remember 2020 I’m sure) and a guitar in my closet.

So here I sit today, after over 4 years of practice, looking back on having “finished” the last lesson in Grade 3 and realizing that all my daily practice items are now either learning “dreamer” songs, techniques from Grade 4, or adding to my repertoire of strum patterns, riffs, and grooves.

To try pay you back for all that your free lessons have given my life, I purchased your Practical Music Theory course along with the other items in your bundle. While it took plenty of time and dedication on my part all these years, without your well thought-out progression of lessons, I would likely have never overcome the obstacles that stopped me in previous attempts.

BTW, I donated that guitar to a local charity that provides free guitar lessons and instruments to young people. I now have 3 guitars I play regularly (2 electric & 1 acoustic), and I’m looking forward to using the guitar playing skills you helped me gain to eventually becoming a true musician as my journey progresses.

Thank Again,

Ed

Hey Ed, that’s a great story. Glad to have you in the community, look forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I joined in October 2023, currently in grade 2 module 11. Loving my progress from literally nothing to be able to play easy open chord songs.

Hope to share similar experiences. I have yet to make contribution whether it be monetary or by the skills I will acquire.
