That Brand New Chord feel

I’m brand new to (Seriously) trying guitar. I’m learning my first chords. I find I struggle with finger placement at first - especially when you add more fingers and have to jump strings.

But I have a question for beginners and maybe the more advanced out there, too. Do you ever get that brand new chord feel? When you are trying to get it to work and it’s buzzing or muting and then everything falls into place and you strum and…there it is. Everything rings out as it should and it’s clean and perfect.

The closest analogy I can think of is perfectly ripping open one of those boxes with the pull tabs on them or maybe pulling plastic off of a new purchase. It just feels…nice. It’s crisp and clean.

Does anyone else experience this, and can you think of a better analogy?

Hi Scott,

Everyone, no exceptions :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

not for me because nothing comes close to what a nice chord can do, and certainly not stuff like phones and well uh everything … unless of course it has to be a new guitar in the house :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:,

Many expressions are based on “like striking a chord” , so nothing beat good/nice/clean music/chord (well for me) :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Greetings,Rogier

The first time that blasted F barre chord rang out clear as a whistle from my fingers was exactly this feeling

Music to your ears?
