I am a beginner and have a question…The finger positions for an ““A”” cord or ““D”” cord…what does that same position become going further up the fret board??

If you just play the fretted notes and no ope strings
A chord becomes A#, B C D D# E F F# G a d so on.
D chord D# E F G G# A A# and so on.
If you include open strings it gets complicated
