The Madman’s Diaries - The Blues Chapters - Chapter Two - Updated 161023 New Recording Added

Thanks Jason. I literally went through the PG amps one at a time to find the tone I was looking for then did some fettling. I honestly thought the Jazz Rivet would be the go too for an acoustic but it was a little too clean. The Interstate tick all the boxes, well for me anyway.
And as I said the Ganymede is fast becoming the go to reverb for most things !

Yep my go to for clean is the JC120. I will perhaps have a little play with the interstate. Some great reverbs I use the Ganymede quite a bit too. By the way the new firmware 2.0 is coming to the end of Beta…suggestions are it might go live for all on the 7th Nov. Apparently it includes a completely new CAB engine (as first released in the Helix range). Not sure what else but can assume it’ll be some more amps, fx etc.

Hi Toby,
It has been a while since I took in some of your current work, mate. I must say your sounding good to these ears.

Bummer on OBS! Your struggles with that make me think my not putting much time into it was a good investment! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: You are talking a fair amount of latency delay there with the AI settings and what not going on. I would think it hard to play live with that going on? I would guess your monitoring at some point in the signal chain to where the latency is not affecting your play?

One thing I can say is you have really improved over what I last heard you doing. Great job there and I hope it continues for you!

All the best and take good care!

Glad you dropped LB ! And if you got through all 6 recordings, hats off to you.

You’ll be glad to know all the tech issues have settled down. Well I hope so, as there is a JGC Open Mic at the end of the week !

Most of this year has been focused on Blues Rock Soloing and Acoustic Blues, having spent a couple of years really getting the singing and playing comfortable. So yeah, pretty happy with progress. I doubt if you’ve seen my Learning Log where there are some WIP recordings but since early September I’ve decided to work mainly on fingerstyle (Blues and Folk) and that’s also paying dividends. Guess you reap what you sow ! Hoping to publish another Blues Chapter soon. There’s another 5 tracks to get up to recording quality, one of which is still to be learnt but as I always say I’m an advanced beginner, always learning something new !

Saw you comments about health issues on the OH colab post and hope you are well.

Thanks for listening.

Sounding good, Toby.
I just got back from the Legendary Blues Cruise, so my ears were primed for it.
Keep it up.

Had to google that Robert, sure looks a lot of fun ! I think if you had heard me first you’d have cancelled the tickets  Appreciative the listen ! :sunglasses:

Not a chance. I appreciate your postings and hope someday to be able to play those licks myself.
