I was playing The Rose chords today and wanted to do something different, so I grabbed a piano backing track from good-old YouTube and played a melody over it. Nothing complex. It is mainly the major pent and a bit of vibrato. I mucked around with it a couple of times before recording it for future reference, so thought I would put on here.
Very Nice.
That was very nicely played Keith. Not familiar with the song but I really enjoyed it.
Very nice Keith, plus a very nice guitar - you gotta love a Telecaster!
That was nice, Keith. Bette Middler?
Sure is, from the movie of the same name.
I thought everyone would know this song. It is sort of a standard. Showing my age I suppose, as the movie of the same name was out some 42 years ago now.
That was beautiful Keith it’s such a lovely song, the lyrics always bring a tear to my eye. Your playing was very gentle and emotional - simply lovely
Nicely played Keith!
Hello Keith, and thanks a lot for sharing .
It’s a wonderful song (I’m old enough to know it ).
It’s always so stunning how different the AVOYPs are - in genre and technique.
I really enjoyed your playing .
Some lovely smooth playing there Keith. Calm and confident. It’s a tune I know well. I think it could sound good with a more gritty guitar tone as a contrast to the mellow piano. Just my opinion of course.
Yes, I’m the same. I always choke up if I try to sing the song. My wife and I had just seen the movie and were travelling home when we proposed. We are still together.
Lovely playing, Keith. Melody is unmistakable (assuming one is not so young as to have never seen the film, heard the song when it was popular)
