The Steady Thumb Blues

Hi Community :grinning: :wave::hugs:
After the Primer it would have been such a pity not to give this one a try…so here it is after a month of practice…nevermind the notes that are missing or those that have been …uhm… “replaced” :see_no_evil::joy:

This is the best I can do and, in all honesty, playing it is sooo challenging that it didn’t even cross my mind to go along with MatchMySound or with Justin’s playing…it’s already a lot that I can kind of go along with myself, lol :see_no_evil:

Hi Silvia,
This time the thumb is a little less steady , but I still really enjoyed listening to it and it’s good that you posted this now :sunglasses:  , after our conversation I would also be very disappointed if you had posted a flawless performance and would say to me … "oh apparently Iplay it perfectly always "… he is now in the background playing again and the notes that are missing are most often captured because the rhythm continues …so be happy ( you are ):sunglasses:  :bouquet:

Today I watched 5 and a half hours of videos with Justin, the last unit almost in one session :upside_down_face:…you are a nice change , I’ve seen enough of him today

Completely exhausted, you made me smile again, thank you and enjoy the praise :sunglasses:

Greetings :sunny:

Wow Rogier. That’s dedication!
Now then Sylvia, that was really good. I’ve actually just today started a TrueFire acoustic blues course that my son bought me as an early Christmas present. I’m only on lesson one and I’m having a difficult time isolating my thumb and keeping the beat so I’m very impressed by your performance.

Ha ha, yes Gordon ,thanks… that is also a nice way to say it that way  (we are encouraged to view all released lessons as soon as possible) and then take it easy again in the coming weeks/months/years…
Have fun with your course  :sunglasses:

Sounding great Silvia. I don’t know much about the blues as it isn’t my thing so can’t really offer any advice but my ears enjoyed that very much!

Did you dream him last night? :joy: But big thumbs up for your dedication :+1::+1:

Yes …I always am, unless something sounds really really bad, in which case I wouldn’t post it

I’m pretty sure that with some practice you’re gonna nail it. Thanks for your feedback Gordon!

Thanks Mick! I don’t know which level you’re at, but make sure you have your fundamentals down before.

Thank you!

Ah Michael! My brain is sloppy :joy: But also colourfull and lively

That’s what matters the most! Thank you very much Eddie for letting me know

Just take your time John and you’ll nail it! Thank you for listening and your feedback, much appreciated!

Why Why ??? why you ask :scream::grin: Yes, really I did, although that is not the first time I have dreamed about him  … fortunately not a nightmare, but it was not at all fun either (something about car racing at the Nuremberg ring :see_no_evil: ) :joy:

And on with that Xmas song now

!!!Hijack Alert!!!

My favorite quote by Einstein:

“If you can’t explain it to a 5 year old, you don’t understand it yourself.”

Silvia, as a teacher who has small children in your class, I would think you understand this, no?

Back to the thread… nice playing (again!!!) on this exercise!!! I always enjoy the joy you bring to your playing!!! Bravo!!!
