The Stuck 3&4 Chords

I don’t know these particular songs, but the golden rule is: if it sounds good, it is good.

But in the long run, you will limit yourself, when you get stuck with the stuck 3&4 chords. Coincidentally, there was another question referring to that, which I just answered. You might want to check that out (I don’t want to type it all again ^^):

Why learn the basic chords rather than "anchored" chords

Hi Jason and welcome to the community! Can you give an example, which chords you mean exactly with “anchored chords”? I assume, it’s the chords where you leave pinky on string 1 fret 3 and ring finger on string 2 fret 3? Because for other open chords, I don’t see the option to leave two fingers as they are in any case. I’m basing the following on the above assumption. For songs, where these chords sound good and work nice, it’s definitely not wrong to use them. But be aware that you might limit your options in that way. So having other songs in other keys using open chords should be in your bucket, too, to build solid foundations. It will take a little longer, but the more you use them, the faster it will get.
