Theme from "Polskie Drogi" (Polish Roads) TV series

Today something special, something I really wanted to record a long time ago, just worked on a satisfactory arrangement.
The tune, originally composed by Andrzej Kurylewicz, is the opening theme of the Polish TV series first shown in 1976. 11 episodes were produced; they were an account of the everyday life of Polish people during the nazi occupation.
The series immediately gained popularity, and the theme was later played by many musicians, including Pat Metheny, who presented his solo version played on an acoustic guitar in his Warsaw concert. I admit to having borrowed a lot from his arrangement.
Musically the composition includes some interesting elements. It’s in the key of Em. In the second verse the D chord starts a march around the circle of fifths (counterclockwise), going to G, then C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab only to land at G7sus4 becoming the dominant chord over the C opening the bridge.
Sorry for the lengthy explanation. Here is the song:

That was nice. Did you use a chorus effect? I dig that that wet sound. I almost looked out side to see if it was raining. Not really but it was a good effect, not to much but dialed in just right.

In one track very lightly set vibrato effect was used; in the other - just some delay.

@DavidP @AlyKat @Ontime @DeltaTyne Thank you All so much; the tune is still very popular here in Poland as the series is shown repeatedly every now and then on different TV channels. I’m glad it appeals also to folks who, quite obviously, don’t have any emotional connection with it.

Like most beautiful melodies, I feel that listening creates an emotional connection & response… this is more than just a tv show theme, it’s a story in itself that cries out for peace, sorrow & loss.

You play beautifully Tomasz. Thanks!

@sairfingers : Thank you for listening, Gordon, your positive opinion means a lot to me
@lansbansomg : Wojciech - I’m so glad you’ve listened to my version; in my arrangement I chose a tempo slower than the original, preserving the same key. I tried to make it sound as dramatic as I possibly could mixing just two guitar tracks. Thanks for stopping by and for your positive opinion.
Oh, BTW, welcome to the community. This is a great site to learn, share knowledge, present recordings or just chat

Thank you for the welcome, Tomasz. I observe the forum for some time now, but never had a chance to actually write something, but your performance brought back some nice memories. I definitely like the atmosphere here!
