Well this seems like good news to me. It will need some clarification and testing I’m sure.

I don’t know. It appears that Tidal have algorithms for detecting AI, and these will determine whether music is deemed substantially AI-generated or not, and that classification decides whether the content can be monetized. In other words, their AI is going to determine whether artists get paid or not. There will presumably be an appeal process, but as with nearly all of these situations, it will not be weighted in favour of the artists affected.
I imagine everyone is trying to navigate through this, and it seems to me like Tidal are trying to do the right thing. I’m sure there will be challenges ahead but I feel it’s a positive thing for real artists.

At least, it’s a step in the right direction. All we have to do now, is to wait for the bubble to explode and to see what comes next.
