Hi everyone - I hadn’t really been engaged with the community for a while, but last month I sort of randomly stumbled across the section with Community Recordings, and have really enjoyed watching/listening to the postings.

Have heard many originals I thought were top notch, and very some very interesting cover versions.

Seeing all this, I was inspired to finally put the finishing touches on something I’ve been working on for a while so I could share it here.

So here goes… my original tune called “Time Flies”… I hope people enjoy it, and all feedback is very welcome.

When I was young
Summer seemed like it lasted a year
Lazy days, with nothing but

A month flies by in a day

Nice original song David. I really enjoyed the lyrics and you have a good voice suited to the song. The guitar parts I won’t dare to comment on as I am strictly an acoustic guitar guy who keeps things simple, so to try and decipher what’s going on with guitars and effects would be doing you a disservice. Great job!

I should definitely check this section more often and listen to the posted songs!

The title attracted me, because it applied to me as well and I had started one or two songs in a similar vein (but almost never finish my stuff :roll_eyes: )

Thanks so much, Dominique. I’ve become a big fan of this section of the community. I hadn’t been on this site much for a year+, but I happened to listen to a couple of originals here and got completely hooked. I love that everyone is doing some great things and that its all just for fun. There’s some great stuff here, lot’s of creative people.

Hi David,

Great production. Sounds big and powerful.
Some really nice guitar tones.
Tasteful leadwork.

I’m getting a 70s Stones vibe in places.
The song made me think of the TV show The Wonder Years - might be the lead tone reminding me of Joe Cocker’s cover of With A Little Help From My Friends.

Enjoyed it.
