Tomorrow by James (on uke)

Hi. I mentioned on another thread that I’m currently on a 3 week holiday in Lisbon, Portugal. I drove here in my campervan from Scotland with the family and 2 dogs. There was no room in the van for a guitar, so I brought my daughter’s cheap uke (that she never plays), and decided to learn some chords. It turns out that playing stuff in C/Am is relatively straightforward. Here’s Tomorrow by James (a lot of James songs are easy for beginners as they use the same chord progression throughout). Apologies for the singing - I’m also taking some online tutorials to improve that while I’m guitarless!

Hi Colin,
It turned out to be fun with that Uke :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:…no sorry for your singing please, your voice suits it perfectly and without it it would be boring…so extra points for that  :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Greetings and enjoy the rest of your vacation  :sun:

Hey Colin,
great to see you’re doing well with that uke!

So intonation is bareable!
When I’m on a less than perfect instrument I try to tune making a compromise between the open note being perfect and the fretted one (same string), as you possibly only use 3 frets, maybe fret the third fret and tune so both will be just a bit off rather than the open one being perfect and the other just bareable
At least for me, it has often sounded a little nicer then.

Have lots of fun on your vacation!

Great idea for the tuning @domi7 - I’ll give it a go!

Thanks @roger_holland

Sounds good, Colin. I’d actually like your voice a little louder, so sing out loud and proud.

Yes Colin, sing loud and proud! Great to see another Scotsman taking his music abroad! Good stuff.
I’m off to Spain tomorrow but flying so no guitar this time. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
