Here’s my cover of a “Tomorrow is a Long Time” by Bob Dylan with some vocals (still working on that singing…)
Also something I’m working on as well, a song called “Lakeside” by Paul Davids. It’s a fingerstyle song in Open D tuning! This song is a beautiful example of how was a melody forms and develops, with the bass notes constantly running in the background. Paul Davids has a great video on it on Youtube.

You are getting along really well with folk fingerstyle. My only suggestion would be, if your hand anatomy allows it, is to try to develop the ability to play F major with fingers 1-3 holding down a grip on B, G and D strings with thumb over for the low bass note. If you can achieve this, it will allow your playing to develop even further as there are songs and moments when you want to embellish an F chord.
I can’t do it sadly, my thumb bends backwards so I have to play a full barre or sacrifice the low bass note.

Thanks so much Richard. Really appreciate the feedback. I do sometimes play the 3 finger F or Fmaj7 with the thumb over, but didn’t think I needed it for these songs. Do you notice anywhere in these two songs that could benefit from the thumb being over? Happy to include in my playing, thank you again!!
@abhiralla Abhi, my most talented friend, OMG! Just beautiful. Not sure if you realized it or not, but when I watched the 1st video and it ended, I moved the cursor to Lakeside and ended up with 5 songs following the first video without having to do anything. I got Tomorrow Is A Long Time, April Come She Will, If I needed You, The Wind (is that your own creation?) Anything, and then Lakeside, all on the same video. Don’t change that. It’s most enjoyable. All I can think to add is, for Anything, I couldn’t see a mic and the voice was a bit quiet, not horribly so, but could have been a tad louder. If you add a few more tunes with more bounce to get the blood going, you’d have the makings of a great CD. Put me down for a copy, please!
For most fingerstyle with F major, you don’t play the A string and often don’t play the high e string so it could be a default grip if you can form and play it successfully.

And you’re combing it with fine vocals on top.
If you’d like feedback, I’d suggest you’d have a fine time researching some songs that strongly connect with you , speak to your heart and then enjoy the journey playing and singing them!

Thats a very interesting point you make, I’ve never thought about playing the 3 or 4 finger F for embellishments (although I guess it naturally happens sometimes). I usually always played it for ease, but this is very insightful! Thank you very much
