There is a lot of historical baggage associated with music. I just ran across this. A Tone used to be divided up unto unequal semitones in the days before 12TET (12 Tone Equal Temperament).

Next you’ll be telling us that you can squeeze five quarters into one whole bar!! 
Are their hucks? I think thats the special 5 fret jump. Only used in special certain circumstances.
