There is a lot of historical baggage associated with music. I just ran across this. A Tone used to be divided up unto unequal semitones in the days before 12TET (12 Tone Equal Temperament).

Are their hucks? I think thats the special 5 fret jump. Only used in special certain circumstances.

As an American who studied theory in HS and College, this business about Semitone/Tone makes much more sense than what we learned. Can’t wait 'till you cover the British note values!
