Thatās a very interesting device.
I could near feel inspired by a device like that one.
But I wonder. Is that something I would like to do? Iāve not gone crazy with pedals for my elec. I got 5 or so. Cheap pedals at that. I use two of them pedals sometimes, āifā I use a pedal. Which I often donāt. However I do use amp reverb on all my electrics.
Then I wonder how thatād sound with the new device. If thatās something I just gotta have. Iāve plugged my acoustic into a amp on occasion. Since I use reverb with the electrics, I used it with the acoustic. It didnāt do that much for me so turned the reverb off. Amplified didnāt do that much for me either for that matter.
I really do like the tones my acoustic gives. I have no issue with sustain. It rings like a bell when played. I just like the way it is. So.
Do I need one of them new devices? I donāt knowā¦
I do know, the device is $20 more than I paid for my acoustic guitar used.
Anyways, for those who are getting them. They really do look like the catās meow! Have much fun with it and tell us all about your experience you have with it.
I watched Justinās video on it and it really did sound good. Enjoy your new devices to the max!
@HappyCat That is fair point of view and I understand. My Pioneer plays great too and having this is not really neccesary⦠but what truly is?
Being able to produce reverb from my body without AMP seems like really great new āspiceā to my guitar playing and I am telling you⦠yesterday I wanted to play short tune and hop on Fallout 4 (PC game) I spent like more than 45 minutes with guitar because of this and I am pretty sure I will destroy my fingertips following day. ![]()
I came here to share something⦠something.
You have to count your guitar body gonna weight a little bit more, it is not much, but if you hold your guitar everyday⦠you will notice.
Another error from my side is⦠I have Harley Benton stand, which has some parts of steel. And guess what⦠that x brace is sticking my guitar body to that parts, so I have to be careful so I dont put it here in angle and damage my guitar body with scratches. This is 100% avoidable by not having steel stand or I will print here some plastic spacers, but for anyone thinking about this device⦠keep in mind you will have magnetic body part. ![]()
Happily⦠I did not damaged my guitar and it is not such a drama, but I would like to share this little point here.
Edit: I think I profit from this Amp little bit more, because this is my POV and thanks to booster soundport the sound comes directly to me. ![]()
Might also want to check out itās OK to use if you have a pacemaker ![]()
Iād avoid the tremolo setting till youāre sure ![]()
@brianlarsen Haha, this is giving deep meaning to āhe is playing from his hearth feeling every noteā. ![]()
(I dont have one)
A pacemaker or a heart? ![]()
@brianlarsen Pacemaker. ![]()
@TheCluelessLuthier
Thanks Mark for taking the time to make a review for us ![]()
Thatās pretty useful
And nice guitar by the way ![]()
@TheCluelessLuthier Thank you very much for samples. I can see you really like it like me. ![]()
To me it upgrades the sound⦠to the level you can hear on YouTube videos or even some soundtracks⦠but now it is live and you got it in your hands.
I definitely agree, because I am not fan of using AMP and being wired⦠sound does not please me (my problem no experiences and lazy effort) but also being able to put this on with magnets and short cable and play it ANYWHERE is really game changer. ![]()
Now my Boss Katana MK2 will have even more dust on it. ![]()
I got it on and effects work⦠but to be honest too much chorus is making guitar sound not that natural, too much delay makes mess and tremolo⦠what does it do? Even I watched the video and tried by myself I dont see much big difference here. It does something⦠but⦠why⦠![]()
Only thing I love is reverb, but all these effects are pretty new to me and I am pretty sure through using all of them I will learn how to use it. ![]()
Thanks for the review Mark.
Great to hear that in action.
Iām gonna go with my initial reaction after hearing your review.
I liked the tone of your guitar as it is. w/o any electric mods.
imho, your guitar donāt need any āupgradeā.
I doubt Iāll be running out to get one.
I played for hours yesterday on my back stoop. My guitars tone was just what I wanted. No mods to itās tone at all.
My guitar didnāt need any upgrades short of upgrading my playing. imho, thatād make me sound better, via better skill to play.
For me, part of the perfection of acoustic guitar is that it is just you and your guitar. Thereās nothing high tech, nor mod of itās sound. Itās not gear that makes it sound good. Itās āyouā that makes it sound good.
And if I canāt achieve good sound w/o help from high tech, then Iām of the notion that itās my playing that needs the upgrade. All the high tech in the world wonāt make me sound good if I canāt play.
My attitude about this product is the same I have for most gimmicks (pedals, modelers, aps, etc.), or even upgrades to a better guitar. None of them will make me play better. Thatās on me. Playing better is what I thinks makes me sound good. Not a bunch of high tech gimmicks.
I just find I like the tone of a good sounding guitar by a good player is pretty much where itās at. Ya just donāt need any modern upgrade.
I do think itād be fun to play with, for a moment. Kinda like my pedals for elec. I played with them for a time. Then I went back to playing w/o pedals and more concentrate on how I play, not how I twiddle various knobs.
There are just so many tones that can come from a guitar. I just find it hard to improve on.
Thatās me.
Iām glad that the options are out there. But just find them so overwhelming that the gimmicks pretty much seem to leave a good sounding guitar w/good playing behind.
Rock on Folks.
However you do that, is your choice.
Cheers, Mark,
āI much prefer thisā
Thatās the only important thing ![]()
The reverb is definitely the star of the show, it makes the sound feel fuller. It also can help with a bit more volume on fingerstyle songs. A little bit of delay can be interesting, but I usually keep it low. I do like some chorus, especially on certain songs like āSound of Silenceā to give it a more ethereal sound. I donāt use tremolo much. Iām really still experimenting to see what I like and where.
Thank you very much Mark ![]()
And now I know that I donāt need this ![]()
It takes away a bit from the specialness of an acousticā¦I canāt put my finger on it
Greetings
I completely understand Jim, for someone that had a high-tech career, I usually lead a low tech life. Rock on!
Just for science anyone interested in⦠I was inside trying to fix my āangle screenā. I have permission from support, but it did not help much.
I see lot of potential here with 3D printing. ![]()
I am having fight in my head⦠I got this AMP around 7 days and I am playing with that daily.
Even the reverb and technology sounds great from soundhole⦠I still tend to turn it off or dont put in and keep enjoying pure sound of my guitar. Is it bad to have fight like this?
This is leading me to question if I should keep it or notā¦
For science I tried to plug my Pioneer to dusty Boss Katana Mk2 and I can squeze more reverb and other effect juice if I want⦠I would keep the pick up system for this case.
Can you please anyone give me honest feedback keep or not to keep? As a guitar friend to another guitar friend?
I dont have much experiences with those things⦠maybe you went over similar experience in your life.
After all⦠I started to play with acoustic and keep learning it mainly because of pure natural beauty sound, which I love. ![]()
You answered your own Question.
@stitch Yeah⦠that is scary.
Iāve been thinking about this one too⦠and whether those that got it still use it in a years time or whether it was a fad?
