Tracking progress via the website

Hey all.

New to the journey, seen some of Justins vids on YouTube so signed up to the website. Alot of people seem to recommend just using the website via the paid app so I thought I’d try that first - question, I can see the courses and associated videos listed on the website but is there a way to get the website to track my progress for example, ticking off the videos I’ve watched/completed? If that makes sense. I ss on the dashboard there was a tab for my journey but it’s blank when I click.

Any guidance and clarification would be great

Cheers

As far as I know the website and the app are not synchronised
so you cant track on the website what you do on the app

I’ve looked abit further into it and think I’ve figured it out

Click the three lines in the top left corner and the menu will open, select courses
Pick your course ie beginner grade one
Where it says course outline, below the picture of Justin it’ll have the title of the module so in this case “before you begin, guitar basics” - click that and it’ll take you to a screen where you can press “start this module”

Once you click that, you can watch the vids and it’ll tick them off as you go in the my journey section of your dashboard so you can keep a record on what you’ve done/watched

yes every video in the learning path you watch will automatically be ticked as done /watched

Welcome to the Community Craig!!

As @GrumpyMac said, the website and app are not integrated.

The App is developed by Musopia, with support from Justin. Originally it was just a tool to enable playing along with songs. Later it was enhanced with versions of the lessons.

Justin’s website does have its own Practice Assistant and ability to track progress.

My personal recommendation would be to use the website as the primary source of learning material. Watch the videos and read the written content which adds more.

You can then use the App lessons, either when not convenient to use the website or as additional to refresh.

As you make progress and work on playing songs then the App can be invaluable as an aid to that. That said, I’d also think of the App as training wheels on a bicycle. Eventually you’ll want to play independently. At which time maybe App becomes an aid to learn a new song.

Hello Craig & Welcome!!!
I use the website & also subscribe to the app. Usually, I use the website to learn new material & use the app for the “guitar karaoke” playing along with songs - not necessarily to learn them but to use the songs on the app as a backing track.
That said, I also like the app’s lessons after I have watched the corresponding lesson on the website when I am in a situation where I’m waiting for something… like when I find myself in a doctor’s waiting room or something similar. Good way to refresh the lesson when I don’t have my guitar in hand!

If you want to track progress on the website, select the Journey option on your dashboard.

This will show all the Courses and Modules you are working on (In Progress) or Completed.

Click on the drop down arrow for each section and it will show all completed and to do modules/lessons.
Once the module/lesson is complete it moved to the Completed section in the relevant course.

Hope that helps. As already said, the website and the app are separate entities.
