Hello all!
I’ve been listening to and playing a lot of Dwight Yoakam lately as I’m going to see him in concert next weekend! I got my wife 3rd row tickets and a hotel room at our local casino after for Christmas. The Mavericks are opening up for him. It should be a great show!
I don’t think this is my best recording, as my kids were being pretty rowdy around me when I was trying to record it. I skipped the intro, but I hope that you all like what I put together.
As always, any feedback is helpful! Thank you all for listening. Happy spring!

Hello Travis,
it sounds good to me. I have to lift up your voice (again).
I recognized you pretty fast based on watching your recent Johny Cash cover video.

Oh Travis - your voice gives me goose bumps! Puh, you push the level!!!
The guitar sound really fits so well with your voice - what type of pedal / audio plugin did you use to get the sound?

Thank you very much @andyPlays !!
I used my live acoustic pedal board for this one, and have on most of recordings lately.
The signal path flows from bottom right to the left. I didn’t have the acoustic overdrive on. Body Rez was set at about 1 o clock, session compression pedal was in the middle, for modulation I just had a hint of delay, and the EQ at the end of my chain was highlighting the mids!
How cool is this - thanks a lot! I am playing with the tought of adding “something” to my guitar sound, but had no idea what. So far i only use a Boss OC-5 Octaver, which gives a nice punch to the baseline and can even emulate a 12 string (by adding an octave + 1 ). Your chain gives me a lot of food for thought! I was thinking about a Line6 Helix but the analogoues way is probably better for acoustics. Thanks a lot!!!

I’ve never used an octave pedal before @andyPlays , but that seems super cool! I’d like a line 6 someday but I’m down the individual pedal rabbit hole now. I like my acoustic board a lot and don’t see many changes happening there. I don’t know how necessary the Body Rez is but I’m still figuring it out.
I’ll throw up a pic of my electric board too. I e been adding pedals here and there, but it’s to a decent point. I want to add a noise gate to the end of the dirt section, and the amp switch doesn’t have to be on the board.
I’m excited that I have room for upgrades. Next might be the MXR delay pedal (there is a tap switch for it that makes it super useful live I guess), the classic Keely compressor at the beginning of the chain, and a more dynamic chorus pedal.
