Happy November to all of you! I have been asked by several people at gigs to play a Zach Bryan song. Alas, I have one at least partially under my belt. He has a unique voice and is hard to replicate in the octave he sings at so I did my own thing.
I felt like my guitar parts were good but not great, and same with vocals. A little more polishing and I think that it entered my live set! Any feedback is always appreciated. Cheers!
Your voice is unique and you should put your own vibe into the songs you play. Do the the people at your gigs expect to hear replica songs? I doubt it.
I enjoyed your performance of the song. Do it your way!
Thank you very much for your advice @sairfingers !! If anything, people compliment me when I’m playing live on how I make every song sound my own way. I think that’s pretty neat.
I’ll attach my last gig flyer and another tune that I almost forgot about.
I learned “Wish You Were Here” according to Justin’s lesson tutelage. I haven’t been very good at bending on acoustic until recently so I couldn’t play it very authentically. Funny moment—I was so excited that I got through the guitar parts that I almost forgot to sing
Hey Travis. I enjoyed both of your songs. Then I delved into songfacts online and read a couple articles about the back stories of the songs and the artists. All very interesting. I love going back and reading things about the history of the music. So thanks for your enjoyable performances. Well done.
Heya, thanks for the listen @pkboo3 !! I’m a Historian, and I often feel lucky to have the day job of being a high school history teacher. That craft takes me many musical places and I love it! Music is the closest thing that we have to a legit Time Machine
