I have trouble remembering names. I will shake someone’s hand, or fist bump in the post COVID era, introduce myself and forget the person’s name in an instant. I have to take a second to remember that @sairfingers = Gordon. It’s brain wiring, and the secular humanists hate the concept of talent, but it’s the truth, there are skills and some talent (or lack thereof) that we bring to the journey on day one.
My advice is to start memorizing chord progressions and chords in a key early on. Songs are sexy, but most of the music we hear and play are based on common chord progressions.
