Two original songs - Andrea and Song 3

I’ve been enjoying playing about with Reaper, so I recorded another couple of songs (minus vocals). The songs aren’t the finished article and probablyaren’tready to be recorded, but I’ve been enjoying recording so I thought I’d share them.

‘Andrea’ is influenced by what ive been learning on the Level 2 and 3 Beginner courses.

Song 3 (imaginatively titled as it’s the 3rd song I’ve recorded) is simply influenced by my liking of distortion!

You’ve done well playing the various tracks and combining them into the finished piece.

Both songs are quite repetitive: there is not much to get, and keep listeners’ interested; the drum is too loud. In song 3, at about 1:40 something goes wrong with the timing; the parts don’t synchronise.

Look forward to hearing the ‘finished article’.

Hi Colin,
Well done on sharing your music from early on
You obviously have played for a while- that’s a good stab at both of them.
I agree with the ‘other Brian’ that without vocals, the music requires something extra to avoid monotony, but they should be fine if you get around to adding them.
Song 3 needs WooHoo… Hoo! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Yeah - I started putting together a melody and lyrics for Song 3 last night. It’ll probably soon be retitled “Are you gonna go right now?”

Both sound really nice!
Maybe a tiny bit of further development and they’ll be great songs!
I see you used David’s tip on panning two same (/nearly same) guitar tracks right and left!

Ah, on Andrea… what’s that third bass note you use? Sounds as if it’s not the right note to me.

Yeah - I’m going to explore a way of improving that bass line.

Thanks for listening and the feed back - always appreciated!
