It’s great to see the videos of your progress and journey. I started the same way recording my progress and still kind of do that. You’ll get there. Don’t beat yourself up if you hit a plateau. We all have. You have done very nice guitars.

Way to work through it Simon! No suggestion here, I think you nailed it. It’s geat that you are pushing through these strumming drills now, will save you a lot of paint latter. I never took strumming so seriously, and now I having big time trouble playing to fast as a song progresses. Hard to break old habits.

Its a struggle, some days it rolls and my head is in the right place, some days my health can be a bit rubbish and its as if my ears cannot hear correctly and my brain overthinks rather than plays naturally.
I know I need to master the Metronome, it is without a dought easier to play alongside the sone for me, the rhythm is easier to pick up than a metronome, my guess is , if I master the metronome, the rest will be a lot easier
