This is a song I constantly practice on but struggle with a few techniques. First of all I chose to use a pick instead of Fingerpicking because I like my nails to be trimmed down.
So first issue I have is that I constantly hit the wrong notes when trying to keep a straight posture. How do I pick the right pick consistently?
The other issue I have is the scale run. It just doesn’t sound smooth. I try to play it slowly and it works just fine. Regardless I am not able to play it at a faster rhythm without sounding like trash. How should I approach this?
It seems like I have mental block because I try to play this for 2 weeks every day now and I don’t really progress.
Hi @erdem89 The answer lies within your own analysis and questions. You are struggling to learn a song whose necessary techniques are beyond your skill level. You should park the song and dedicate some stand alone time to learning and practicing the skills, then apply them to songs a little more accessible than this one. Also, you do not need nails to play fingerstyle, flesh on string is just as good.
I guess that is what I was searching as an answer. Although Its really fun I should take a few steps back.
Thank you @Richard_close2u !
