Great song, great version.

This has been one of my go to songs for a long time.

You might even say there’s something of a congregation.

It doesn’t surprise me at all that you like them, Ian. I know you’re a Stranglers fan, and I’ve sometimes thought the two bands have something in common. I’m not quite sure how to describe it. It may be the slightly world-weary delivery of the vocals, but I think it’s more than that.

Oh - I loved the Stranglers too!!

@MarkPeters You have an good memory, Mark. Yes, I’ve seen the Stranglers over 20 times, in the original line up.

Never seen The Church, unfortunately. Perhaps one day !

Awesome, Sonyal!
you did great!

I’ll have to research “the Church”. Remember this song, and the band name, but that’s all. Now with this song, listening to the original, you pointed me to a song that suits my singing range well, I think! Most often songs are high for me and I have to care for transposing or other ways…

I just wonder about the strumming pattern. And while your rhythm and timing is solid, I think you would benefit from that steady movement Justin always mentions and adapting your pattern so the sound would be the same. But playing the rhythm then should feel easier and more relaxed and later it would be easier to add extra notes (when needed).

PS. Sorry - I had overlooked that Grytpipe already mentioned the same thing!

Appreciate it @RodC!
