Update progress

Thought I update you lot as you been nice to me. Got the A chord mastered .I ended up doing the normal version instead of Justin’s way and for some reason that works and I found that I when I change chords I put my all my fingers down at same time when I do that A chord.I still re training my brain for the A but I can get 30 clean chords A to D .

C to G I can get about 35 clean chord changes ( I found C easy maybe coz I’m left handed playing on right idk ) most of the chords I found easish and my fingers never hurt.maybe a left hand thing having dommet hand on fretboard.only A for some reason but everyone is different
Em to am about 70
G to D about 45
Etc.
Also learnt bit of music theory have been since my 1st week as I couldn’t read tabs
Also got a guitar teacher and had my 1st lesson today and I told him how long I been playing and he was really impressed and shocked and that made me happy. One thing he showed me that really made a difference was I was very Stiff on guitar and when your stuff you end up putting to much pressure on strings and it was because I wasn’t comfortable …I was playing on my pc chair…I sat on my sofa and I was more comfortable and relaxed and made a big difference.

The chords I know are A Am E Em D DM G C . I also know power chords A5 D5 E5 and 7th chords as I love the blues I I learnt the 12 bar blues and I learned the chords because I wanted play cross roads by Eric Clapton.

Songs I do know without looking are crossroads. Wild thing. Sing . (Happy birthday) If that counts

Riffs I know …Peter gunn theme ( my warm up) hoochie coochie man.
Enter sandman
Another one bites the dust
Come as you were

But there is a few songs I learnt like knocking on heavens door and leaving on a jet plane. but don’t sound right on electric guitar or maybe it’s just me idk but was thinking getting a acoustic as lot bob Dylan songs I wanna play etc and country but not just yet .

Strumming is bit hard .I spent so much time doing old faithful d d u u d that it’s hard break the pattern…

You should start a learning log

If your comfortable that is good, but make sure you are not slouching over the guitar with your back bent, that can cause pain and long term posture issues and affect how you place your hand on the neck.

Generally it is recommended to sit on a chair with legs initially with your legs bent at right angles at knee and a guitar teacher advised me to put a guitar foot support under my foot of the leg support the guitar. Raising the foot up 5-8 cm this lifts the guitar and helps you sit more upright and helps keep shoulders parallel to floor. At the same time you should use a guitar strap and adjust it so it is taking some of the weight of the guitar, it will also mean if you stand up to play it will be in the same position.
