Valintine Serenade to my wife

I did a Valintine day serenade for my lovely wife who I have been with now for 30 years. We were just getting started in life when we met. She pretended that she didnt like me, but I knew what was up.

I took the song driving on 9 by The Breeders which a remake of a song by Ed’s redeeming qualities. I changed the words to represent us falling on love In Reno and Carson City and the Mountains surroundings the area. It meant a lot to me to make her smile with this as we have had such a hard year especially her. But she is tough and togeather we can get through anything.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it, learning to sing and performing it for her. It is very special.

Jason, that was great - organic and straight from the heart.
Really special knowing you were singing/playing to your wife who was sitting just across from you.
Thanks for including her response in the video and for sharing that special moment with us.

Thanks, I am humbled coming from a bluesmen, such as your self. it is a bit rainy today in AZ so perfect.

She was very happy, teary-eyed even. It was tough to keep going near the end, she was bouncy.
I actually tried to practice that song when she wasn’t around. Because she totally knows it, she loves the breeders and that album, so I did good hiding it.

There is even a whole extended version where briefly expain about name badge on the guitar. Its her moms from a starting a job 9 days after my wife was born there in Carson City, Nevada and part of the song. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you sir

I love to sing to my wife. I am a regular dork like that.

Hey Thank you Eddie, I appreciate that compliment from you.

Hi Jason
That is very sweet from you do do that for here :sunglasses:  (Especially because Valentine’s Day is actually meant to be completely different, but commerce has taken a toll on almost everyone )
Another 2 and a half years before we have been together for 30 years (I’ve known her for 30 years now), so she has to wait a little longer for a song from me

Greetings

I actually did entered after if found out about it perfect timing. I appreciate the thought. I did not win. I would have gotten a new acoustic. But its ok but its ok, will have to fix thia or one ofnthe other broken ones i have picked up. Another contest. These hash tag things never work for me either. I did see the the guy who won was very good, very sweet also and it was very clever video as well.

I do need to do something about a better acoustic guitar though, its a bit frustrating. But things are already getting better. :pray:t3:

My true gift was my wifes smile

Its hard to believe, probobly the longest I have done anything. Hey the 28 years is amazing as well and you can sing to her any time. :face_in_clouds:

:pray:t3:

We have done a lot, but we still have so much more to do as well.

It is, there was something wrong with the hash tags thing I guess. But they announced the winners yesterday. I dont usually enter contests or ask for help ever. In this case tho, my acoustice is on its last legs. Also too big, hurts me to play. I could surf this sucker.

Without this community and members I would not be able to play as well or stay as motivated. I owe everyone here so much. It is my happy place.
