Greetings one and all welcome to the first Vintage Club of 2026.
Get yourselves geared up for some Riff-tastic Rockin’ fun as we forsake my mantra (learn songs, learn songs, learn songs) and spend our time playing just those small chunks of musical magic that we call the guitar riff.
If you have an electric guitar and an amp, you may want to turn the knob to 11!
If you have an acoustic, you’re good too, the riffs will work on any guitar.

Hello @Richard_close2u
I wanted to register to this session but " There are no upcoming live events scheduled for the moment."
Can you publish it? Thank you.
I really loved this event and it came in perfect timing for me. Thank you Richard, and congrats for your personal milestone achievements . May there be many more.
It wasn’t the easiest club for me, the tempo was so freakin’ fast . I was really struggling with speed as I am not using a pick, but my fingers, and alternative finger “picking” is not so easy on the upper strings. I also learned that my Staccato needs much more attention, so I am sure to be visiting recordings of this club much more in the following weeks.
I did debate with myself whether to slow all the riffs down.
But after the first one (Batman) I opted not to.
Some were quite slow. And I thought that it gave people a target to work towards after the event if the speeds were a bit too challenging.
I admit, I took liberties with my rather liberal application of the word staccato. Some of the notes we played were not, strictly speaking, staccato. They simply lasted their allotted duration and were followed by a rest. But I thought it much easier to explain that by describing them as notes with an ‘immediate stop’ and to call them ‘staccato’ then to get into the technicalities of note duration etc. None of the notes I tabbed actually had the symbol which indicates staccato … a dot above a note. I hope my deliberate choice did make it a little easier to get to grips with the riffs where we used that muting technique.
