Hi all - how is the steady alternating thumb learning and practice going? It’s been very quiet … was it not a popular topic or are you all good with it already, no questions to ask and would be ready to progress?

it was a great topic–just putting it to practice.

Hi Richard! I think this takes a bit longer to get your brain to follow the intent, then more time to get fingers to cooperate. When I was learning the fundamentals of Smokestack Lightnin’ it took me over a week to get it basically working, but then it progressed quickly.

I reviewed the lesson this morning (I didn’t make the class, at work) and this will take me about a week to get comfortable even after being able to do some of this on other songs. Don’t get too concerned if folks take a little longer.

It might be handy to make it obvious that the lesson link is the youtube video, not the link to the live class. Just a quick edit of your text should do.

A brilliant lesson has renewed my interest in fingerstyle. The timing was perfect, too, because my alaska picks and thumb picks arrived last week and I’m starting to learn fingerpicking all over again, as I briefly mentioned in my LL.
Thanks, Richard. I’m really looking forward to more sessions on fingerpicking.

I was traveling for work Richard, will watch it over the weekend and give it a go! Thanks for doing these!
