What notes is Justin playing on the upstrokes of the rhythm part?

Hello John and welcome to the community. Good song to start with!

Not too sure what you mean by rhythm as the whole song is pretty much lead guitar. The first chord is E5 with the E7sharp9 stabs. There is a basic 8 bar blues shuffle I IV V E5, A5 B5 with 6 notes joggled on the I and IV. On the chromatic runs between chords he is peddling with the open E string; is that what you mean by upstrokes? Let us know. Peter

Sorry, I did not ask my question very well. |I meant the upstrokes on the boogie parts see Justin’s video at 11.51 for example.

He’s just playing the e on the second fret of the d string and on the IV the a on the second fret of the g string. Part of the E5 and A5 chords
