Weeping Song

So, after a looong hiatus that was caused by traveling around the country (work related), I ended up in city without any guitar at hand. So I bought myself used yamaha, cleaned it up, adjusted anchor, changed strings and voila! I’m back in business!

The problem is that I forgot everything I worked on, so I chose this nice two-chords song by Nick Cave. This song is a barre torture, because both of these chords are barre chords. So I use it as an endurance practice (as you’ll clearly see if you watch till the end - my stamina crumbles by the end of the song)

I also don’t have any fancy equipment here, so it’s just a phone recording - true acoustic vibe. As for vocals… well, I have no idea of how to make myself sound good, so I just gave up for now

@remchi You still got it, dude! Very cool song performed well!

Nice work switching between finger style, thumb strum, and finger strums. Very dynamic :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Good job , taking on those barre chords Rem!
I like the way you switched up the finger picking and strumming, creating a nice dynamic. Your voice is pretty decent and your tone suited the song. Liked your recording a lot.

Oh, yeah, I got it!

Thanks for kind words. I noticed pattern, that when I play songs without tab, I tend to start with fingerpicking and then transition to strumming for dramatic effect.

wow, that’s a high praise! I wouldn’t say that I’m even close to Nick Cave - loved his voice from the times I was a teen.

Thanks! I appreciate it.

Thanks! Yeah, those barre chords are a pain. But at least I can endure through the whole song now, I wasn’t able to do it several days ago, so there is some progress.

Don’t talk bad of your vocals because your voice is quite impressive to me. Piles of emotion and great tone. Guitar abilities are really fine too. Your dynamics, amazing! The ending gave me some happy giggles

Thank you. I appreciate it.

You’ll spoil me with your kind words  It’s very hard to accept my own voice, every time I’m listening to myself I only notice bad things, mistakes, etc… maybe the fact that all my friends and family always told me that I am not able to sing and should never even try have something to do with it
