Went to a great show last week

I hope these types of posts are allowed.

Last week the little lady and I had tickets to see Social Distortion. Mike Ness and Social Distortion is one of the few all time favorite bands for both my wife and I. They have been sold out since tickets went on sale. They have been huge part of my lifes sound track and I honestly can not think of a time where they were not active and I was not listening to them except 94 to 97 qhen they were on hiatus. I have seen them 5 or 6 times, but the last time was way way back in 2005. So It has been a while. I was also able to score an oppurtunity for us to get in for a little meet and greet with the Bands but we had to be at the venue about 4 hours early and it would be while they were doing other things. I was ok with that.

Some Photos

We Just turned in our electronic tickets for old school paper ones. Yeah you can still do that at some venues. But only if you are there very early.

We were able to score Hard Times and Nursry Rymes and he signed it. My wife told him that her dad was in a bike club in Bakersfield and we had seen him a bunch back in the day in Reno NV and Norther California. Mike Ness is from Fullerton California and so lots of similarities with my wifes up bringing. We had a blast.

Later that night. Downtown, The Rialto venue is a an old theater built in 1920. Great place to see a show.

Wounded soldiers in the house. My shoulder is busted and torn and I need surgury, and my wife tripped coming down some cement stairs in the dark ripped her jeans and gacked herself, she is so rad :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. We were a blood dripping mess by the end. So punk :metal:t2:

Mike and the band giving us everything they got.

Venue poster, I wish I had gotten this earlier and had Mike sign it also.

Such a cool show, cool old punk rockers, rockabilly types, there was a cool mix of people. So chill and fun. I hope it was not a boring post

Sound awesome! I am still grappling with the end comment “so chill and fun” yet you both came home bloody and broken…

Not boring! In addition to following your joyous adventure, I’m now revisiting fabulous memories! Different bands, no signatures, but we each have our special times. Thanks for sharing, and for brightening the day.

Oh yeah, right :smirk: that does sound odd . Luckly I was already broken. My wife is hardcore. We are both into cool sports and have been most of our lives. Too old for sponsors now but in my day I was hooked up in Snowboarding. But we both were into it all skating, MTB, climbing, mountaineering all the fun cool outdoor stuff. She used to drop into the vert ramp on the skate so she is very familiar with road rash.
Come out with us sometime, you may donate some blood to the gods as well.

She was more upset about her torn Levi 501s. We are getting older now, but we do always trip out our daughter and her friends doing big crazy stuff in front of them. It doesn’t always work out.

Fantastic judi. For many years we had been suppressing our inner wildstyle so now, we have been hitting shows anytime they come within 600 miles or so. When we were younger and went to shows, we could never get merch, always with groups of crazy people, always trouble and crazyness, lucky just to make it home. Now is the time to savor it i think. I am so happy that I could give you a smile and perhaps encourage you to get out there and see some live bands

Thank you David, and thank you for your other wise comments elsewhere on the site
