@sclay’s comment on the death of Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil’s drummer, made me think of Aussie music, and now my mind won’t stop singing ā€œLeave me alone, I’m on SMOKO!ā€
Mark E. Smith singing in Aussie, to the tune of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid
Legend.

I found out about this Italian artist recently. He is covering a song called ā€œBalla ballerinoā€ from the 1980s by a famous Italian artist called Lucio Dalla, as a one man Blues band.
Incredibile talent. Carlo Poddighe.

Here’s one that popped up on my feed at 5AM this morning! It was this gem of a thumper from @LievenDV:

oh lol that’s 4 years old aready

How did that end up in your feed? researching Fleetwood Mac stuff?

Another example where a bit of strumming dynamics and subtle chord decorations with your pinky give some texture to ā€œvanilla chords strummingā€

Ha @jkahn! Your song reminded me of walking up the food concession window at a public zoo and asking for a cup of coffee. The ā€œserverā€ told me I need to scan the QR code on the window to download the menu, and then order the coffee with my phone.

I walked away.

I honestly don’t know, it was number one on a music mix on my ā€œRecommendedā€ feed. It’s cool when forum member tracks pop up on the feed. Shout out to our other big toe, nice cover version! LOL

Here’s a nice tutorial for anyone catching a whiff of inspiration:

Dude I dig that Inlays on that guitar so much. I have only seen them on one other guitar before. That is one owned by Nico (DeathRayCat) from the band X-Ray Cat Trio.

Oh cool song and nice dynamics.

The Fender Hellcat is a Tim Armstrong signature, that is natively lefthanded
I fell in love with it right away, must have been 2011. The interesting color, the inlays, the vibe … Great guitar with a well articulated voice, great for fingerpicking actually.
Was about €320 back then.

I like the things you dig out lately, Clint!
And I just love this georgiarose guy! He has tons of Beatles tutorials
It’s about time that I post a Beatles cover as they were my biggest childhood heroes.

Thanks for posting this, Erion! I was watching and listening in awe!
At first I thought he had recorded another track we don’t see him playing, but it seems he just sent the bass notes’ sound somehow to the the left and the other strings to the right.

We’re working on a song called ā€œThe Simpletonsā€ and it extends the vibe Tim Armstrong stuff like this.

disclaimer, the lyrics are quotes by the Simpletons, not myself, since it is a social commentary  please don’t go into the religions/politics stuff on this community. It’s just punk lyrics

@domi7
Yes, as far as i know he does everything live. He tours around Europe frequently. I’m hoping to catch him at some point.

I got curious about his setup too and he helpfully explains it in this video.

There’s some clever stuff going on in his pedalboard.

Fink. A discovery last year, Cornish singer/songwriter now based in London and Berlin, I believe. I’ll be checking concert locations and dates for this summer.

What a great blues album this is and this song is well…just…those licks are smoother than an eel in the mud…I need to practice some of them soon

Is Mark looking for a threesome in this? :open_mouth: (or is that just my warped mind?)
Yes, lovely guitar. Lots of reverb.

I really don’t know what you mean (yes, I’m a little scared now) and I’m doing so so so my best not to put on this song in the coming weeks so that I don’t understand the entire text or finding what your freaky mind comes along…me :innocent: ,and so I can continue to maintain my own truth/story :grimacing:and this song is not ruined…

ignorance is sometimes a blessing

I recently discovered Teddy Swims and his incredible voice and charisma. Yesterday, I tried to practice the song ā€œLose controlā€ on guitar, loved it so much! It’s been on repeat for days :slightly_smiling_face:https://youtu.be/6rk-zpAj7w8?si=MKJ9UzsV8LQohmJL

I also decided to practice a few songs by Amos Lee lately and while looking on YouTube, I found this incredible man and his covers. Has anyone ever seen his videos? He did beautiful covers of Van Morrison (Into the Mystic) and also The Civil Wars (Barton Hollow) What a voice. Gives me goosebumps every time and I strongly recommend to watch him https://youtu.be/N0cz0grBoqE?si=RNmVf80KnYt5CfFT

Speaking of The Civil Wars, even if the band no longer exists, I have stumbled upon this great Tiny Desk performance: https://youtu.be/HamYmjllE6A?si=HBWQuokaPNPrnOYE

Thank you everyone - I like to check this thread, lots of interesting things posted!

sounds great! I’ll check him out!
This song reminds me something else in my album collection (but uhm…what was it? that I think sounds really close)

Thank you Rogier for reminding me of this… this was possibly one of my favourites on the album? But I didn’t listen to it for too long. Probably lots of favourites there,
Do you know the Notting Hillbillies album? Some similar sounds there.
Oh, now I read Brian’s comment and have to admit I didn’t listen closely enough it seems. But sometimes, you don’t need to know everything

Oh, this is interesting! Lots of things going on in his setup!
But the main attraction for me is his ability to do all this at the same time and still have the right feeling for everything! Haha, while I struggle to do one thing with the right feeling
Yes, to visit a concert would be nice! Now I looked and only found some in Italy upcoming.
