What guitar related gift did you got for Christmas?

Man, my ā€œWhat did you get for christmasā€ thread barely got 30 replys last year, this one went nuts and has doubled that already. :joy: so cool.

Santa was busy with all these great guitar and music gifts. We are all so stoked.
I can sense a year coming full of music making and cool use of what we found in our stockings.

As it always seems to be, once one get a little deeper in the art, we suddenly find our selves in need of new tools of the trade. I am going to send my bearded snowboarding, sleigh riding buddy, a slow snail mail that should arrive in March, after a nice 2 months off. It will let him know to get thoes elves working and building for next year, so none of us are dissapointing.

Furch make beautiful acoustic guitars. I came very close to buying one but it was an Auden that suited me better.

@MartinCS Checked out a little that brand and it looks like they have similar approach. Small company with luthier specialist doing the job they love. Great looking guitars.

Thank you for the recommendations. Sadly however, the triplegraph isn’t available for this (Europe) region? I’m getting a 404…

The jhs pedals are also great, especially the dunlop one.
I’m thinking of ordering one and if i don’t like it, send it back. There’s not enough shops around (at least here) anymore to try lots of pedals before you buy.
Right now, it’s down to the jhs one, the micropog and the mxr…

Those Tolkien books will keep you busy!
The Silmarillion is probably the easiest of the back-story to middle-earth, and doesn’t cause too many headaches (there are some good stories in there) but make sure you aren’t too tired when you read the others - they take some brain power to stay with :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Wow, there are lots of great Christmas gifts here!

I’m happy to share mine - it is my first looper:

Maybe, if I had chosen a looper, I would probably have bought a smaller one with less features included … and regretted it later on .

I already spent some time with this new toy and my first loops were all wonky. However, I already see some progress, so there is hope that I’ll get the hang of it  What I’m also struggling with presently, is the perfect setup with all those cables - although on the photo it doesn’t look too bad.

Now I get back to ā€œloopingā€ and wish you all fun with your new toys!

Lots of little things including:

  • Locking tuners for the kit strat I got last year
  • straploc buttons for the kit strat so my straps with the mating plug can now be used
  • ultra-fine sandpaper for fret polishing or deburring
  • spools of hookup wire for my amp designs and fiddling around

It had been a long time since I had changed the strings on the kit strat - 308 days! It was a whole bunch easier this time!

I’ve worked through the headaches already, and I’ll do it again.
The only books in that photo that I haven’t read yet are The Fall of Numenor and The Nature of Middle Earth. I am a huge Tolkien nerd.

Erion dude. That Behrernger Flow is a good little unit. There was a discussion about those in my pedal building community. Becarful of the power supply just because its ā€œmicroā€ usb power and be sure to update the drivers to the most recent as they will most likley be loaded with old ones.

Edit, Fixed sentence about the power supply cord. auto correct did something odd.

Thanks Jason.
I did some research regarding the type of mixer to get and that seemed like a very good option. There’s a series of videos on YouTube by a guy called Drew Brashler who goes into a lot of detail about how to set these things up. I was surprised to see how much you can do with them. Mine should arrive within the next few days. I’ll take it for a spin on the next open mic.

@Justh33 Awesome! :blush:
I just sat down, tuned, plugged in and hit some reverb…
Oh my god. The bar chords are here so easy! I cant even explain how much easy. I can see I will noodle around a lot with this one! Just trying different chords how they sound in order… hitting random melody notes with slap. I am in love.

Perfect! Now do what I did: tune to Open G, remove the low E string, and learn every Stones (Richards) and Led Zepplin songs in Open G. I love the ease of play (I’m 73 and have arthritis in both hands - 50 years of karate training will do that) and the musicality of Open G.

Believe it or not, when doing rake bends I sometimes touch the low E string, quite annoying. Doesn’t happen with my Les Pauls. Yes, Fender has a narrower neck. Right away I thought of Keeve! :joy::guitar::sign_of_the_horns:
