What’s on your Christmas (Holiday) wish list

Hello all!!!

Just curious what music :musical_notes: related items you might have on your wishlist this year?
I’m thinking about 3 categories -

  • Things you’d love but no way you’re gonna get it.
  • Things you might get - maybe a stretch though.
  • Things that you could actually find under the tree! :christmas_tree:

Category one for me is a new Duesenberg guitar - so inspirational & so no way it’s gonna happen!

Category two is an Ibanez B300 banjo - it could happen!!!

Category three is a couple of Justin’s books!

Angelos @angelakis ,
I think a Harley is out of bounds… I said music related…
But…
For a Harley I guess it’s ok!!! :white_check_mark::rofl:
Which model? I LOVE my Softail but sometimes wish I’d purchased a FatBoy!

Some would say the roar of a Harley is music to their ears.

One of the guys today at the weekly Men’s Shed jam that I attend showed up on his Harley. A blue and pristine 2015 74 incher.

A keyboard is very good. I started with a full size Roland keyboard but it was too big to pull out easily. Sold that and got a Yamaha Reface CP and it’s been super. Been playing it for some months now and can do 2 songs, ones an easy rhythm arrangement, the other is full melody. Now I want a bigger one as well but not as big as the roland.

1 A wall of Marshall’s! To be clear this would be completely useless to me as I live in a small house so I could barely turn them on without blowing out my windows but is there anything more iconic? :joy:
2 Pedals - probably a fancy reverb pedal, something by Strymon most likely
3 Nothing - there’s nothing I want or need right now

1: Justin live Christmas blues songs under or in front of my Christmas tree playing, accompanied by Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr. and Derek Trucks

2: My wife sits behind the piano playing Christmas carols while she keeps saying sweet words to me in exciting clothes .

3: dust that is blown under the Christmas tree by the blasting of my guitar amplifier :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

4: breaking the tradition of my parental home and the rules within this topic :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:…4: This year I will only give and not receive anything in terms of things…I wanted it earlier, but this year, after some unpleasant things it will be, and my 4th wish will be granted .

Greetings :mrs_claus: :christmas_tree: :peace_symbol:

Harley Davidson=Rock N Roll=ZZ Top

It’s obvious that is a musical instrument!:up_arrow:

I want a Fatboy but softail is superb also!

@tony Definitely! A beautiful and melodical sound

I think one keyboard is a great way to learn guitar better and faster.

  1. A better singing voice

  2. With 6 guitars and basses, a fine synth and a piano I enjoy, I don’t think anything comes into this category. “There must be something”, I hear you say. There probably is but, number 3 not withstanding, I want to enjoy the fine instruments and associated stuff I already have.

  3. A Nobels ODR-1 (it’s an overdrive pedal). I asked for this from the kids. I have 4 adult kids, so pooled presents makes stuff I wouldn’t otherwise ask for, affordable for them. My eldest daughter went to buy it at the local guitar shop.

Daughter to shop assistant: “I don’t know anything about guitars, but my Dad wants a Nobels ODR1.”

Assistant: “Well that’s good because we have one left in stock………Whilst you are here is there anything else your Dad wants?”

It put a smile on my face

A bit early, but I consider it a Christmas gift from… myself. Yesterday a Valeton GP-5 modeller/multieffect arrived. It cost me an equivalent of 75 US$ (including shipping by DHL service from Thomann right to my door). I’ve made a number of perfectly useful presets; and let me tell you, what this little guy can do is simply astonishing…
On a more serious note, my Christmas wish is for a miracle getting rid of my health problems…
No presents required or even asked for.

Before my loved ones give me any socks or shirts, I’d rather have guitar T-shirts or guitar socks. Merry Christmas gifts to everyone!

For my last birthday I got a set of nylon strings even though I don’t have a nylon string guitar. I did the polite thing and said they’ll be great for playing flamenco.

In our home, we’re not s’posed to say the C-word before December, but I guess it’s four weeks away and advent starts on Sunday, so I’ll make an exception this year

I’m in that self-satisfied zone, where I have absolutely no wishes for any music related gifts/gear.
If I had to wish for something in category 1) it’d be a place on one of Justin’s guitar camps. Not because I think I’d learn much, but hanging out with a bunch of JG enthusiasts would be v. cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I could also go for @roger_holland’s second suggestion (although obviously with my wife, rather than his )
The clothes would be unnecessary

This has been going on in this forum for weeks and to be honest, it drives me a bit nuts… it’s just like the entire commerce here in the Netherlands, with any holiday it is coming earlier and more and more… :see_no_evil_monkey:

Hey, it doesn’t matter if  you have to have something to dream about :joy:

Greetings

  1. Gibson Les Paul - Dream guitar - no chance. I bought myself 2 new guitars already this year so was pushing my luck with my wife already. lol

  2. new pedalboard so I have something fun to build on Dec 26th

  3. records / vinyl - likely. Maybe a new reverb pedal to add to said pedalboard

Gear wise nothing stands out and I already have a Harley. And yes they are musical. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

So my wish is hear less tritones, unless they are purely song related. :smiling_face_with_horns:

Definitely the number one day for building new pedal boards, or modifying existing ones.

I’ll be at my in-laws working out how to accommodate a new pedal on my board.
