Anyone have any idea what this is? Looks to be plastic and stuck on with double-sided tape.
A tracking device used during production? Do you have any enemies? 
I’d try to remove it and see what it is.

It looks like its prefabricated adhessive piece for cable management when you want to add pickups.

I believe it would be a brace or reinforcement of some kind for a joint, or whatever is on the outer side.

It’s definitely not bracing Shane. It’s plastic and the thin end is floating. There’s nothing on the outside. I think Michal is right- it’s probably for securing a pickup wire when fitted.
