What's your favorite chord out of the "8 Essential Beginner Chords"? and why its G? 😁

Hi! So, what’s your ā€œfavoriteā€ beginner chord? Like if you have to listen only that chord forever?

I’m sure it’s G, I mean, that’s the GOAT. The 4 fingers grip or the 3 grip with fingers 2, 3 and 4.

It’s A.
Which is G barred, up two frets.

If I had to listen to one chord forever. Myself. I’d stop listening due to boredom.

Reason for ā€˜A’ is I can play it with one finger.
Or two, or three, or 4 fingers. I find it a versatile chord.

I really liked A when I was a beginner because of how you can anchor to switch to E and D.
I really like E and Am also since they lead to learning F and a bunch of other barred chords with the same shape

None of the above. If it doesn’t have a 7 in it, it isn’t in the running for any kind of favorite.

None of the above for me, either. Here’s my favourite in tab:

Read the question guys. The OP wants to know your favourite from the 8 essential beginner chords. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

C open. Somehow my brain really likes fingers 1, 2, 3 nicely in line (order).

Just wait till you discover B7. Yeah, it’s not one of the 8, but OMG it is magical

You are going to really trip when you start learning and then using the different sus and add notes.

They turn things into magic.

I am a big fan of G - it is quite versatile. I also love an Em

I forgot to tell the reason that I like the G chord and it’s the beautiful sound

It may be G for me, as long as I play it like this:
10
10
9
0
8
10
i.e. normal C-shape fingering with the E string fretted…
Highly recommended

How is this G chord, Tomasz? Did you reverse the tab notation?

I read the two 10s which are next to each other as high E and B strings, but they should be Low E and A strings?

E 10
A 10
D 9
G 0
B 8
E 10
Like I said: a regular C shape with the low E string fretted. Sorry for the confusion; indeed the notation can be considered reversed.

Thank you Tomasz. How do you fret low E string? Ring finger plays both A and low E strings?
