When to study Music Theoryun

At what stage in your learning journey should you consider taking Music Theory course?
I have read elsewhere that complete beginners (which I am) should not study Music Theory yet.

You can start learning theory any time you want to provided it doesn’t interfere with your practical learning.

I sometime learn things better when I can read along with video & practical exercises.

There used to be a sitemap before revamping lessons by Justin when you should take each chapter of Music Theory so you are running in parallel with what you learn playing wise. Unfortunately this has gone now, but doesn’t stop you from checking what is touched on in each chapter of Music Theory Course and learning each chapter whenever you learn something applicable from practical side.

Hey Ted,
If you’ve got the time, inclination, and motivation, I’d say go for it. I started it very early on, and it has been an enormous advantage.
