In the movie, that dance was supposed to take place in 1955. The ES-345 didnât exist until 1959.
But the whole set of movies is about time travel. So in that context and ES345 taken back a few years, ainât that Hollywood. Simples.
Yeah, but they did have a nuclear powered 1.21 gigawatt flux capacitor!
I think I remember seeing it in about 1977 somewhereâŚ

I read that they originally had a more âperiod correctâ guitar to use (ES-350T, I believe,) but the director liked the look of the 345 better.
As I recall the story,
The movie folks went to Normâs in LA⌠he had a â55 but it was in TV Yellow & the producers liked the look of the red one that ended up in the movie⌠since the âsearchâ video came out, I have heard speculation that they already found McFlyâs guitar & this is just intended to build PR & public interest - itâs all publicity⌠
