Oh my goodness me. Surprised, disbelieving, thrilled, disbelieving, smiling, disbelieving, puzzled, disbelieving, happy tears, heart touched tears ā¦ the list goes on as I digest this gift and the words that each of you have written.
Iām bemused to find myself here in this thread, breathing the air of the people whoāve preceded me. Iām not going to diminish or devalue this wonderful gift by asking āWhy me?ā as I think about the Forum Community Award recipients before me; people of great talent, brain breaking knowledge, highly polished skills, artful playing, vast expertise and experience. Then me.
What I am going to say is THANKYOU for this beautiful gift.

I started learning with Justin after I retired because I wanted something to help keep my brain shiny. I had no idea of the possibilities that lay ahead. I thought Iād strum a few chords and sing a bit. Being a student of music has been transformative in every possible way. Iāve confronted fears that have dogged me my entire life, Iāve made wonderful friends in this community, Iāve found a means of expression that brings me deep satisfaction and joy. Itās challenged, nurtured and grown me. Itās a grand way of living the last chapter of my life.
