Wonderwall - Oasis

Hi all, I didn’t think I’d be posting this soon again to be honest, but I had to get this one in for the Oasis 25 tour which starts tonight.

I started learning this one ages ago, back in Feb I think, it took a while to get the strumming pattern down, but it immeasuribly improved my strumming which was terrible before that. I learned the song and was able to play it somewhat ok within 6 weeks. But it was very difficult to play and I had a lot of trouble keeping time even with a metronome, so I decided to shelve it for a few months to work on other songs.

I did still have a bit of a wobbler after the break at 2 mins and lost time for a sec, but in the other take I did a couple of days ago I didn’t stop moving my hand and kept time, but overall this was a better video with less mistakes so I’m posting this one.

I took on the feedback about incorporating my wrist more and adjusting my positioning so my fretting wrist isn’t bent, it feels so much better. Thanks to the people who made those suggestions.

Hi Rick, it was excellent! Your strumming hand looks much more relaxed and you play in time. Do you really need a metronome with such strong pulse from the backing track? You even have “backbeat” word exactly on the backbeat. I found this interesting while learning this song. My main critique would be that your accenting of 2 and 4 isn’t fully consistent through the song.

I could probably give it a try without a metronome now actually.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll probably continue working on this song every now and then. It was weird having a break and coming back to it was unusual, it was easier in a way.
