I finally figured out how many hours I’ve been practicing guitar since I started with Justin Guitar at the end of January! (At least per the Practice Assistant.) Just change the filter dates under the Stats Tab.
From Thursday Jan 26 to Saturday Oct 21 you practiced 167 hours 42 mins
For some reason that doesn’t seem like a lot or enough! I feel like I need to step up my game, life is too short to dilly dally around.
Quick ball park math in my head says around 85-90 mins per day.
Ergo 9 months average 30 days = 270 days / 168 hrs - 1.6 hrs per day ?
1hr 36 m seems a reasonable daily practice and many will do less (some more).
That’s probably closer to correct. Don’t ask me to do math without a calculator. One thing I loved about my high school physics teacher; he had no problem with us using calculators which were a new thing back then. He said you’re not learning math here, you’re using it.
Back when I started, once the pain went away, I upped my practice time to 30 minutes a day whenever I could instead of the 20 minutes Justin recommended. And for grade 2 I’m trying to do 45 as much as possible. Managed an hour today. I wish I could get more time in more often, hoping when winter sets in there won’t be as much to do except play guitar.
Nothing wrong with wine or beer either. We went to the local tavern last night, I had 3 Widowmakers but only by accident. I ordered one, and the waitress brought another double for my brother-in-law though he ordered a woody wheat, so she left it there for free. Can’t let good beer go to waste!
I think it’s quite something ,more than 30 min every day Rebecca ,at least for people with more to do in life
I’m so glad that no one and nothing keeps track of my playtime because that, together with the use of the forum, could give people the idea that I don’t do anything else all day (as has been suggested more than once by a certain Brian L )
But a good intention to play even more, of course
Greetings,
I have noticed others say that. However, as my whiskey tends to be polluted by a soda called 7Up, I gravitate towards the cheaper brands with that pesky “e”.
