YOU GUYS. I'm getting a Taylor GS Mini!

Sounds like an exciting adventure in finding the perfect guitar! The GS Mini E in Carbon Burst sounds like a beauty, and it’s awesome that the tech caught that issue before you took it home—definitely worth the wait for one straight from the factory.

Congrats on the guitar, Taylors are great. I have played many gs minis while looking to purchase. The one common theme is high actions. It’s best to take any guitar to a respected Luthier to do a proper setup. For me it is the best bang for your buck. My first guitar was a $200 Yamaha fg800J from Amazon. I was new and did not know I should play them in person when possible. I was blessed that it was a good guitar. I played it a month or two before someone told me to take it for a setup. This setup made the world of difference 50 times better. I’ve played $3k D28’s that were slightly better if that. I have two other guitars that are different sounds one a 914ce sinker redwood. It is true that Taylor does a basic setup on most of their guitars, yet it’s mainly 300 series and above. The ones made in Mexico for the most part do not have even a basic setup. The 914 has a basic set up from factory and played like a dream yet it benefits from a setup as well. On these I like to take them around six months to have the setup done. This way it has been played a while. GS Minis are wonderful and I have a all mahogany planned hopefully in the future. At that time I would take it in day one and get the best setup possible. Happy for you and your purchase it is a great looking guitar.

I have one and love it. I also got a Baby Taylor Walnut free with my bigger Taylor 314ce through a deal with Thomann - it travels to work with me ;). They really are great guitars.
