Zoom not picking up any sound from my guitar

I have an upcoming Zoom meeting with @Richard_close2u and am trying to set up/test to make sure things are working OK.

My set up for audio/video is:

  1. Guitar > pedals > amp > Behringer UMC204 AI > pc.
  2. Microphone > AI > pc.
  3. Web cam.

Zoom settings -

ā€œOriginal sound for musiciansā€ is set.

When recording & playing back I get the video and audio from the microphone but nothing from the guitar.

I have read various posts about this but can’t see what I’m doing wrong. Any help appreciated.

there s another ā€œOriginal sound for musiciansā€ to toggle at the right top of the zoom screen
its very tiny

There is indeed, which when I toggle on sorts the problem! Many thanks for that. I can now hear my guitar in recordings!!

I hadn’t checked that and assumed that it would be on if set in Settings!!

Its a ā€œfeatureā€ that was introduced a number of releases ago. Earlier versions kept it enabled if it was declared in the audio setting. Now you have to have it not only declared in the settings but switch it on once the meeting has started. Progress apparently.

It also has a tendency to drop out now and then. So if you suspect any weird things happening with your audio, check OSfM first.

Enjoy your session with Mr C :+1:

I use another word for stuff like that.

I can’t record/transmit any of my guitar ā€˜music’, it always gets intercepted by noise-cancelling circuits. Even my amp doesn’t like it
