No worries I have no idea how the audio works on Mac but its supposed to be superior to Windows !
It’s Scarlett → Mac → Scarlett → headphones, with your headphones plugged into the Scarlett, right? I think that’s what Toby’s asking
yes thats it
same goes for the mic , but there , zoom heard my voice but not the guitar
Is there another mic enabled on the system?
What happens if you plug your headphones into the mac ?
Try changing the Zoom speaker settings to the Mac default and plug the phones into the mac
Is there another mic enabled on the system?
good question , the cam is supposed to have an Integrated stereo microphone
What happens if you plug your headphones into the mac ?
you cant plug a headphone on the mac mini, it has a speaker but not a jack
Set the Zoom speaker to that speaker and see if you can here the guitar via the system speakers.
tried it
I tested the speaker , I could hear the zoom test audio but no guitar sound
If I want to hear myself play I have to plug the headphone in the scarlett
OOO that’s good.
Are you just playing the guitar or using a backing track or the app and if so do you here them all when listening via the AI ?
Having a think. . . .
I can hear the audio test in the headphone or the mac speaker
Same if I use the app , I can hear the music
If I try to set up a zoom meeting , I can hear the guitar in the headphone but Zoom get Zero sounds when I test the mic
OK sounds like we need to see what is happening in Zoom
If you start Zoom you can open a meeting with . . yourself !!
Hit new meeting
and unmute the audio
If you then play through the AI you should see some green on the mic icon indicating sound and level showing Zoom is “hearing” the AI.
To check that is actually true, hit the record button
Play some random chords. Stop the recording and leave the meeting. Zoom will auto render the video. Once complete play the video and see if there is sound.
If so, we can talk about next steps for an OM.
Might have to leave it there for this evening but possible Mac and mini mac users may add some input here in the meantime. If not we can pick up tomorrow when I am around, busy Friday !
Our post may have overlapped but try the recording anyway and see what happens.
HiToby and Deborah I can help with this matter tomorrow I use Mac and Scarlett so if you need help I will be here tomorrow cheers HEC
I tried to open the focusrite app control and got this
I will upgrade the software first
I already tried to record several times Toby but got 0 sound
Gawd bless you Hec !! Out of my area of expertise I am pure Windows but also do Burroughs or Unisys operating systems, though a little rusty !
Im starting to think that my OS is not compatble with Zoom …
its driving me crazy
I got a quick Red signal when I tested the scarlett as the mic again and then nothing …
I have a zoom in 6minutes with Blim2 so it will have to be tomorrow but i can help cheers Toby
Another reason for the heads up on the FTO, if folk who are up for it can get the tech side sorted way in advance it take some of the pressure away. We someone will fix it !
I don’t want to step on Hec’s feet, but let’s start by seeing if your Focusrite is connected to the Mac successfully first.
Hold the Option/Alt key down and click the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen.
Click on ‘System Information’
Select ‘USB’ and see of the Focusrite is shown …
I use the focusrite everyday to play and record so its not that kind of issue
looks like a compatibility issue with zoom, I will just try another set up today
My neighbours will have to bear with me when I play , no headphones ,Ill use the cabinet speaker
