Brian Larsen's Learning Log

Steady Brian, you’ll do yourself an injury.
Glad you had a lovely holiday, it looks like an idyllic spot and the sun shone too!
Eco-pod…are you allowed to play an electric guitar in one of those?

The hart to your post is a mendinghart
And

I almost rode in it, but I couldn’t be put on top of it…I was put on a push wheelchair with very large wheels in the sea waiting for the flood to play with me (who needs enemies with friends like that)a long time ago…but more about this much later.

What terrible news, they have also become completely rxtxrded there … and as I wrote in a pm earlier, they want to do it that way here too …
Well, on the other side of the ocean it is no problem nowadays if you storm a democratic symbol/building and shoot people, but if you scratch or set a car on fire, you can soon go to prison for 5 to 15 years (by the way, keep your hands off other people’s things)…
I believe there is some lopsided growth here and there

I hope that everything will calm down a lot all over the world, I am becoming more restless every week… I wish you and of course your friends all the best and a lot of strength in these crazy times… please send them our thoughts that we read this together with bad shudders this morning

Greetings :sunflower:

I took one look at my pic and decided not to bring it, as the edges looked a bit sharp and dangerous

I had charged up my Yamaha THR at home and played wirelessly.
Very minimalist and no mains required
Hell, I would’ve even managed in Heathrow!

Well Well
so you are learning old stuff

It’s easy to remember that video that accompanies the original :joy:

Nice to see what you create together :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Greetings

Believe it or not, it was one of Larsen The Elder’s choices… not mine
Although, I’m a bear of little brian brain, I’m not a complete idiot, so of course I chose two that I already have covered (they can’t get much worse )

Still buzzin’

Another impulse buy

JK’s fault this time (and Rogier of course!) gassin’ about and wondering what to buy…
The deed is done and I’m happy with it.
I put my old Ibanez Gio on eBay to create space and make me feel less ‘consumerish’. I never played it anyway. Tor sometimes did, but I reckon this is a nicer guitar, and it has sentimental value to it as I bought it from a friend.
Before anyone asks what it sounds like, here you go
Happy daze…

A Jaguar …
I am willing to take the blame  (I will send 10% of the purchase value to a good animal cause :innocent:)

Ooo that’s a nice escape

Have fun playing it and i wish you a lot of time together :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Greetings

Good to see no blame came my way ! Looks a goodun in sunburst, sounds nice as well. Did it come free with an invisible drummer ? Happy NGD Mr L. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I decided to increase the use my LL, instead of creating new threads. On the old forum and the early days of the new community, I felt creating ‘new content’ was good thing overall, and many threads had thousands of views.
Apart from the JG admin team, only @TheMadman_tobyjenner has created more topics than me (I even wrote a song about passing the 100 mark :grimacing:)
Nowadays, most new topics plummet down the list as new ones are added.
That does not mean I’ll be posting less, just not contributing as much to the flood
I haven’t decided whether that includes AVOYPS, but I don’t see why not

I’m lasting better than expected- Four two-page letters sent over the last month
After some difficult times, he seems to be doing better: no longer locked in his cell for 23 hours a day, and has a cleaning job.
A musician friend of mine, Jim Pearson, (the guy I bought the above-mentioned guitar from) recommended a lovely podcast (on Spotify) by musician Tom Rosenthal, called Strangers on a Bench, in which he approaches people on park benches in London and asks them about their lives. At the end of the episode, he writes a song about the conversation or commissions someone else to. It’s all very life-affirming
Inspired by this, I decided to ask Jim if I could commission him to write a song about Will. I didn’t give him much background information, just a neutral Sky News link reporting the conviction. I left it up to him, what perspective to take…
Yesterday, he sent me this :folded_hands:
Is it political?
Yes.
Does it contravene community etiquette?
No.
It’s music!

I’ve commissioned paintings, music and poems about half a dozen times and each one has been special and worth the price many times over.
Try it if you get the chance

Hi Brian,
I have sent Will a letter that is not too long (yes really, I can do that  even though I have a lot to say… I can muster patience …and he must have something to do later  :see_no_evil_monkey:, it will flow when I know he will receive it)… always wait a bit first, and maybe I end up in the “spam” box…

What an amazing song … :dizzy:

my wife :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

me :innocent:

I use you

You’re a good egg, my friend.
He does receive the emails, although they are checked/censored and printed out, and sends his thanks and apologies for not responding to all that have written.
No second hand books or paper allowed to be sent. Could be impregnated with LSD! :open_mouth:
Never thought of that!

What the 1123

I did send an attachment with a file in it

I’m afraid it would be better if I didn’t go to England next year :see_no_evil_monkey:

Yes, I do, it’s a pity that that is no longer possible because if you take something illegal in prison, you can’t imagine where it came from… :face_with_peeking_eye:

well :green_heart:

Merci, Deborah. Haha, feel free to share
tbh, I did it more for my good friend Chris than anything else, but it’s one of those great situations where everyone is a winner

I hope so too.
Humans’ superpower is simply adapting to circumstances. I have a lot of time for Nietzsche’s ‘What does not kill me makes me stronger’- up to a point
