Buy Mp3 for Transcribe program

Hi community,
I am using the transcribe program. And i wanted to ask where do you find Mp3 songs or other format to buy for using it with the transcribe program. Thanks!

I’m not a Transcribe user but if it uses standard MP3 files then any source that doesn’t add any sort of DRM (digital rights management) on to them should be fine.

All of my devices are Apple so I buy my music from the iTunes Store which is free of DRM and I then load them into Moises for the purpose of learning the songs.

If you’re an Android/Windows user then perhaps the iTunes Store is less convenient

@jjw Is this legal? Because things became very tough nowadays. The results of the piracy! :man_shrugging:

@mattswain I am an android user. I don’t know if i can use iTunes. Is Apple music and ITunes the same? Cause i am searching for iTunes in play store and i can only find Apple music.

You’re probably out of luck for the iTunes Store on Android in that case. Apple Music is the subscription service (like Spotify) and is only streaming so that’s not what you need

I don’t know, but I suspect it’s not legal.

My friend

The first rule of

I’ve purchased Apple downloads for this purpose in the past, sometimes they are DRM free, but sometimes I’ve been stung and can’t use them.
These days if I’m transcribing something I’ll often just use the ‘Voice Memo’ app on my phone to literally record the sound of my laptop streaming, then load that into Transcribe!

The quality is of course not great, but I usually find it sufficient to transcribe from.

A couple of years ago when I had nothing better to do (except play guitar) I ripped my CD collection to a NAS server saving them all in FLAC format. This library was then available to stream to various playback devices around the home. I used dbPowerAmp for the copying/conversion. Any of those tracks can then be made available to Transcribe.
For anything I don’t own I purchase the track through the iTunes Store.
