Hey there Guitar Friends! Now, my air-guitar-fingerpicking strategy to foretell whether a Chord Melody is likely to be easy to arrange for me or not…well it’s working quite well!
With the verse of this song I was amazed to see how the melody was sitting so comfortably within the 6/8 pattern that I didn’t fancy anything more than keeping it as simple as possible for me to be able to perform it as best as I can. The only search for ‘good notes’ (apart for the melody) has thus been limited to move ima from 3 4 5 to 4 5 6 and back while playing the p imama pattern or lift a finger on beat 4, to avoid to repeat the melody note here and there.
I’m not sure I’m playing the chorus in the right octave, but the melody here seemed to sit so well within my Em and B7 regular chords that it didn’t even cross my mind to look for it anywhere else on the fretboard! Lazy me!
Right at the end of Justin’s Song Lesson he plays a little sweet Chord Melody too; to me that sounds as the work of a mature musician and advanced skilled performer…maybe one day I’ll be able too to make more refined arrangements of that kind, for the moment I need to keep it simple and just be able to get the song out the chords so I feel very happy with my attempt. As always any constructive feedback is much appreciated.
Many thanks for all the support you always provide…it means so much…then it happens that I can’t help…
