Donner Hush X Pro

Got a Donner Hush X Pro practice guitar to supplement my Seagul S6 Acoustic. I love it. I was curious if anyone else uses one as a learning tool and what your thoughts and experience has been.

I have never had one, but there might be some people who do. You can maybe just do a little bit of research on it. I’ll leave it to the people who know.

Hey Gregory!
I don’t have a practice guitar like your Donner… I often practice with an unplugged solid-body electric … it’s quiet until it’s plugged into the amp!
I do have experience with Seagull guitars! I have a Seagull Artist and a Seagull S12 -

Both are lovely instruments that are a joy to play!!!

I would love to see pics of your guitars!

Love both of these. The Seagull was my guitar back in the early 2000s. It’s nice and warm but too loud to practice at night. I usually start around 9pm. So I looked for something that I could run through headphones and was going to be fun to mess around with. The Hush X Pro is that. It has an on-board computer that does simulations of guitars and amps as well as other on-board effects like reverb, etc. I love it. You can plug headphones directly into it or you can run it through an amp like a true electric.

When I started I was looking into a Traveler brand guitar to use rather than my acoustic so I’d disturb less people in the house with my bad practicing. They had one at my local GC, but I ended up not liking it at the time as much as I had hoped. Granted, I only knew three chords and didn’t have a good feel of my playing yet. I might look into it again now that I have more skills under my belt. I though just having an electric unplugged would do the trick, but I ended up falling in love with a semi-hollow body that still defeated the purpose.

I have a Donner Hush and really like it. It is so well thought out. I’ve taken it on several flights including trips to Europe and have never had a problem taking it on board. I use it to practice scales, finger excercises etc while on the road. I’ve paired it with a Spark mini amp and find it’s a very good combination and so portable!

I’ve got a Donner Hush I Pro, and use it as my main practice guitar. I really enjoy it. The neck can be a bit narrow at times, and I tend to insert the bottom bracket backwards for a better playing angle, but otherwise really like it.
