Don't Worry, Be Happy

Ran across this one in Justin’s beginner lessons.
Bobby McFerrin’s original is a capella. Justin teaches it in the key of C, McFerrin’s original is key of B.
I wandered off and did this in A and did my own version using instrumentation.
It’s just a fun 3 chorder.
If it doesn’t make you happy, I hope you’ll at least crack a smile

Feedback always welcomed.

Hi Dave!

Only feedback from me is that I’m Smiling right now at about 2 minutes into your song!!! Nice job - well played & sung!!! I really enjoyed your version! Thanks for posting!!!

Tod

Hi,
Sounds very nice with the instrumentation arrangement! Good singing, too. Your performance of this song makes it impossible for me NOT to smile

Hi Dave, that was terrific. Super guitar play and an excellent vocal too. Can’t help but be happy after listening to that performance. It might be a fun 3 chorder but you added in so much more with your pickin’.

Hi Dave,

I was smiling from beginning till the end and am surely happier now!

What a lovely, easy going rendition. Great playing, love the melody lines and the guitar tone is on point. Also you have the right “don’t worry” vibe transported in your singing, too. An overall great version of this song. Thanks for sharing some happiness with us!

Well that was fun, Dave.
Well played and thanks for sharing in here.

What a wonderful arrangement Dave, and a seamless performance, both on guitar and vocals.

So clean, crisp, melodic…and it made me happy.

You and the instrument are just one. That’s where I want to be…in time.
Thanks for sharing it with us Dave.

Cheers, Shane

Always a treat when one of your recordings drops. It’s a real pleasure watching you perform (lot’s for me to learn from ). A very enjoyable performance with some super vocals and guitar playing.

What a super performance Dave. Vibes of the original but with your stamp on it. Loved it.

Look who’s back!
Always good to see another OH thread pop up on my screen, although you gotta be quick to catch them now, as they slide down the list so quickly
Your usual meticulous fretwork, complimented by that rich voice, which is still reverberating in my ears
Bravo!
So glad you now post footage of your preforming, rather than that distorted image
Happiness is a funny thing.
Seeing happiness, laughter, joy etc. can make us feel good- and perhaps ‘happy’.
Telling folk to be happy tends to have the opposite effect

It made me happy, and brought a big smile  Nice to see you in AVOYP, and playing such a carefree and uplifting song

Perfect happy song for slow Friday afternoon, nice weather and coffee in the garden. Great performance Dave, both playing and singing was your own, very expressive.

Delightful, Dave, I’m well beyond mere happy after catching that. Such a gorgeous tone from that PRS. But not highlights to call out cause the entire production was a highlight from start to finish

I enjoyed that Dave.
And it did put a smile on me. You were successful. A nice tune and you played it very well.

Thanks for sharing a happy tune with us.

Hey Dave,
Happy tune it is… Kind of made me think of Island music. Airy with the surf lapping at the beach. Like the little slides, vox and other play as well. Nice mix too. What is not to like?

Good stuff and hope you got some of these coming!

Great job Dave!! Enjoyed that much!!
Can’t add much to what’s been said. You defintitely look like you’re having fun!!! :star_struck:

Hey Dave! It’s been a while buddy, but worth the wait - great stuff, nice and simple but interesting and well performed. Really enjoyed that, your interpretation was really pleasing to listen to!

Hi Dave, Great song choice as always and very very good performance, vocals and guitar were excellent. I have heard many covers of this song, yours is one of the best.
