Hi ya all
It has been sometime since I last posted. Busy with big house move and resetting up my music room
.
Back to recording some songs and thought I would share my latest with you guys and gals here at Justin’s.
Hope you enjoy my version of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac.
Cheers
Ron
Welcome back Ron!
I was actually wondering recently where you were at.
Good to hear your absence has been for very positive, happy reasons.
Very enjoyable performance Ron. A great tune and a great sound. All class as usual.
And you’re back just in time to drop a Xmas tune over at
All the best
Cheers, Shane
Lovely Ron, I like your vocals and intonation, I wish I could sing, I have tried but I just can’t get it right.
Thank you Shane. Really appreciate the positive and encouraging feedback. I will see if I have a Christmas song somewhere.
Cheers
Thank you AJ.
Singing is like playing, practice practice and practice. ![]()

I was in a gospel choir over 20 years ago when on a Music Performance course which I enjoyed, but then and now I had problems getting my voice to the right pitch, but it did improve the more I tried
.
Welcome back Ron.
House moves are trying times and I hope yours has brought you to a great place of many years happiness ahead.
Lovely performance. Two chords are difficult to make engaging for a full song - you managed it with good use of dynamics and variations and singing.
What fx do you have here for the backing? I know you use a harmoniser for vocals, you’ve got some drums going on, is that a pre-record or an on-the-fly pedal of some kind?
Hi Richard
Thank you for the kind words and encouraging feedback. I really appreciate it. I am using a TC Helicon Play Acoustic for setting up guitar body rez annd reverb etc and as you said some light vocal harmonies in the chorus. For the drums I was doing them in the fly with my Beatbuddy mini2 pedal. The setting I used was poprock at 114 bpm and I hit the pedal for fills as I went along. Takes a bit of practice but as I gig with the pedal all the time I am getting better at it.
Cheers
Ron
Great job Ron.
Sounds very good.
Great to see you back Ron, and with another classic done well ![]()
What a great cover, Ron. Pleasure to see you here.
Hi Ron, what a fantastic cover, well done and thanks for posting.
I most certainly did!
Outstanding for sure.
I always look forward to hearing your versions of songs you cover. This one is no different.
You always have such a nice appearance.
It’s just like the old days performances of my favorite folk/rock stars back in the 60’s and 70’s tv shows we’d watch as kids. The perfect set for perfect music. The flowers are the perfect touch. ![]()
I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this performance.
Singing is perfect in pitch.
Your production is more than outstanding. Perfect balance between you and your guitar.
Guitar playing is right in tempo. Perfect chord changes.
The minor effects you use work perfect.
I will say it seems you’ve perhaps toned down your effect usage some compared to a few other songs I’ve heard you do. This is good. imho, your on the right track.
fwiw, you always seem to pick music that is right up my ally (music I listen to and like). Music that moves me. This one is no different.
Keep’em coming!
Wish you happiness in the new home, Ron, and joy in the music room.
Always a treat to hear one of your covers. Such a great vibe and can only echo what Richard said.
On the vocal I wondered if maybe you were a little heavy on the reverb or maybe it just needs a few dB lift in the mix. Just felt a little too far back in the mix. Of course that is just my super subject 2cs worth. And maybe you wanted that slightly dreamier vibe ![]()
Amazing performance, Ron. I’m really impressed… ![]()
Thank you so much Erin. ![]()
Thanks Craig. Appreciate the encouragement and feedback. ![]()
Hi John. Thanks man. I have always enjoyed this group and the people in it who take the time to encourage and feedback. ![]()
Thanks John. And you are welcome ![]()
Wow. Thank you for all of that Jim. I have a huge smile on my face after reading your comments. When you know you have really touched a chord with your audience as a muso like I have with you with this sing it is a huge blast, I appreciate your amazing feedback. ![]()
