"Emotion" Destiny's Child cover

Of course the Bee Gees sang it first and you gotta respect the original for being amazing but being the 80s baby that I am, Destiny’s Child is one of my favorite RnB groups of all time and their version is not too shabby😊

That’s great. Thank you for posting. I see you have resolved your recording issues. I remember that in some of your previous recordings your guitar sounded unplugged. What did you change - asking because i have similar issues when recording with my phone.

Thank you! I got a new amp (Mustang) and I’ve been playing around with mic volume vs. guitar on the interface as well as mic placement for now. It’s a little frustrating and still a work in progress for me, but it’s definitely better than before🙂

That sounds great. What a cool song too. I am glad we have good sound from you now. That voice can really shine with your new guitar skills.

Thanks so much! This was my first time playing a song with several bar chords so it was challenging for me but it seems like your fingers figure out where and how they need to lay after a while if you keep at it.

I did miss it! I was so upset bc I got the time mixed up trying to convert it to my EST☹️

Sony al, you haven’t missed it. You might have missed OM 31 but the one Toby posted is OM 32 on August 9. Still plenty of time to go!

Also there’s a recording of OM 31 so you can watch it after the event.

Best, Ian

Thanks for the feedback!

You are an amazing singer and your guitar skills are top notch especially since you’ve only recently began learning, if I am correct. Good job!

Looks and sounds effortless, Sonyal :slightly_smiling_face: You are really feeling the song and it shines through in your singing and playing. I love those percussive hits, which sounded so clearly - probably since you are located so close to the microphone.

There seems to be some small drawback in being so close to the microphone though: You are getting some humming, resonance or feedback sound from the strings. Maybe it would be less if the microphone would be located a bit further away from you? No idea how to solve it unfortunately … and it does not really distract from your gorgeous performance :slightly_smiling_face:
